  • What makes you different from other hybrid schools?
Mainly our philosophy and mission statement, which affirms our determination to individualize for the needs of each student and their family.
  • How much does it cost for my student to attend your school?
You can find the break down of the yearly tuition schedule at this link: Admissions. However, we want to be as transparent about costs as possible. Tuition is $2,700 per year for a single, full time student, plus a yearly maintenance fee of $150. The cost of curriculum is the responsibility of the parent, and we usually find that at most, parents spend approximately $300 per year on curriculum for each student attending Hope. (This is also approximately the cost of our online curriculum.) Which means that it costs roughly $2,850 for one full-time student per year. We do offer multi-student discounts, as well as discounts for early enrollment and registration. We also allow families to pay their tuition over 10 monthly payments each year.
  • How do we know what teachers are doing at school and what parents are responsible for at home?
We use what we call Goal Charts to list what needs to be done by each student each week; In levels K-4, the classroom teacher sends those home to let parents know what’s being done at school, and what needs to be done at home. As students begin to use our online self-paced curriculum, they will still use goal charts, but parents will be responsible for filling out students’ individual weekly tasks to help keep students accountable for communicating what goals they’ve accomplished at home and at school.
  • Do we have to use an online curriculum?
No, “have to” is not really what we do at Hope. We work with parents to individualize for the families’ needs as much as is possible in an academy environment. We have thoroughly examined many Christian curricula, and have used our educational expertise to develop a complete academic program that we recommend, which may vary a bit based on the individual needs of the student.
  • What are the teacher-to-student ratios?
Teachers always have less than 12 students they work with at the same time; we keep our class sizes very small in order to provide individualized, differentiated instruction. We like to be able to provide 1 on 1 instruction as much as is needed by any given student. If the size of any group is larger than 12, the teacher will also have another teacher or teacher’s assistant working alongside them.
  • Do you work with students who have learning disabilities or other special needs?
Most of our teachers have several years of experience in some sector of special and/or gifted education, and because of our philosophy of individualization, we are a hybrid homeschool uniquely qualified to work with students who may learn a bit differently.
  • Are you accredited, and what does that accreditation mean for my student?"
We are currently in the process of becoming accredited with the National Association of Private Schools (NAPS). For K-8 level students, accreditation is not needed or required in the State of Missouri. As we are a private school rather than a co-op, this is true for our High School students as well, but as an accredited High School diploma is important to many of our families, we are working hard to provide that extra level of credibility to our graduating Seniors.
  • Do I need to log hours as a homeschool parent once my student is enrolled?
No! As we are a private school, not a co-op, our official records will be all you need if there are any questions about your students’ academic experience. Because of our focus on individualizing for each family, there may be some exception to this, but we work with each family to let them know if there are is any documentation they need to do at home.
  • Do you require uniforms?
No, we do offer school t-shirts for purchase each Fall, and the option for students to participate in our monthly T-Shirt day.
